The Prince George Evangelical Free Church was planted in 1953 by Pastor and Evangelist C. Clifford Dietrick. Cliff believed God had called him to preach the good news in this city. He and his wife Viviane moved to Prince George in 1952, bought a piece of property on the corner of 5th Avenue and Wainwright Street, and began constructing a church building. The first service was held in September of 1953 with 20 people in attendance. Pastor Deitrick served the church until his retirement in 1974.
On Sunday morning, October the 5th, 1975 the church's building burned to the ground. Fortunately, everyone was able to get out unharmed. One month later property was purchased on the corner of 5th and Killoren and plans were made to rebuild. The church family met in various locations over the coming year and construction of our current facility began in February of 1976.
Prince George EFC has seen many challenges and victories over the years. There's a great sense of optimism today that God still has a good work to do in this beautiful city.
